Welcome to Fancy Lacy. My name is Judith.
On August 1997, I landed in Canada. When I first arrived, people asked, “what is your first language?” The answer was “French” and I added, ” combined with some African dialects.” I am a third child of five. Two years after we tried to settle in Quebec, we moved to Manitoba. Within five years in Canada, our last stop was “the land of the living skies.” Since then, Western Canada’s prairie has become home. These moves taught me to embrace change, language, culture, and people.
Over the past years, I learned to appreciate people and their cultures. I traveled back and forth to Europe, mostly Belgium and France. Europe has so much to offer when it comes to history, design, and architecture. I took the “famous” Paris Boat Tour. I tried to tour Louvre in one day. I walked around Eiffel tower. I visited Bruggees, Brussels (La Grande Place), and Belgium waffles are to die for. My mouth is watering just mentioning it here. Overall, there was so much to see but little time to explore even though I made several trips to the region.
Continuing on my love for travel, I spent a whole month in South Korea for a cultural experience. I visited Seoul and some of its surrounding cities. There was so much rich culture, amazing people, and great food. I remembered kimchi, soups, rice and lots of fresh vegetables. Korea was a pretty cool trip, I got the chance to learn few Korean words. These trips, as I remember, flavoured my life and expanded my horizons.
I forgot one point… My ideal world is a world filled with appreciation. I appreciate honest people with their constructive criticism. I try to surround myself with these types of people. I used to procrastinate a lot. Till I discover this…life is about taking actions, happiness is about having a positive attitude, and joy is a choice. These days I try to do more things that I love and try to love the things that I do. I started Fancy Lacy to share my obsessions.
Now relax, get comfy and enjoy the discoveries.
