6 Steps To Control Winter Rage

So simple, keep busy.  This makes me forget that Winter is here. The temperatures in Prairies’ Winter could give you “rage”. There is no escape so I forget the rage and embrace the weather. Read our previous post about things we look forward to in Winter times.

When it is nice, take advantage of the moment by taking a walk or a run outside. You will feel refreshed. Stop and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Take some pictures, make a snowman, and the snow angel. Since temperatures fluctuate easily around here, some people choose to take warm vacations.  I, on the other hand, travel in my mind with great documentaries, movies, and books.

2.  Embrace the weather – try to relax. Take two minutes and tell your “facial muscle”- relax

3.  Go out when it is nice, enjoy the scenery.

4. Take pictures, build a snowman or snow angel

5. Watch a good comedy or documentary. One of my favorite movie of all the times is ” Life is beautiful.” I go from great laughs to tears. This makes me forget about everything that is happening outside. Photo Rogerebert


6. Take a good nap. Sleep Foundation states ” Napping has psychological benefits. A nap can be a pleasant luxury, a mini-vacation. It can provide an easy way to get some relaxation and rejuvenation.”

Obsession Du Jour: Max Wanger

Hello lovelies!

Have you ever come across an innovative picture that you say to yourself, “who is behind the lenses? ” Well, it has happened to me recently.  I came across photographer Max Wanger through another blog (At Home In Love). His photos are brilliantly unique, especially when he captures people.  He cleverly incorporates a lot of negative space in his striking photographs. The beautiful simplicity of his work caught my eye.

I truly believe that his work will look great on any wall. I’m so hooked with this photographer’s work. Now, imagine my excitement when I found that Design Sponge featured him on their Biz Ladies Profile section. The interview on Design Sponge was so inspiring. I love seeing creative people doing things they love with passion and innovation. I  think you will fall in love with his work too. Take a look.

New Year : These 4 Negative Attitudes Shouldn’t Make it Into 2015



This monk’s picture was captured in Korea. The monk was walking around taking people photographs. I wanted to capture him in actions… So I took this pic of him. You can read more about my trip to Korea Here.

Attitude defines our ways. Attitude determines our happiness. I’m no expert when it comes to human psychology but I know that life comes sometimes with choices. It is acceptable to abandon a “laissez-faire” attitude and invest in overcoming negative attitudes. Why? Because it is the simplest thing to do and it makes life more joyful. Don’t underestimate the power of a mental state. New habit does not come overnight. It will take time and energy, determination, and perseverance. Don’t limit yourself. New Year is right here,  do not attempt to take with you these 4 negative attitudes.

1. Procrastination

Stop putting or leaving things for the next day, next month, or next year. Time is important. Seize it now and act now. Like someone? Tell them. Want to travel? If you have the means for it, do it. Want to try a new recipe? Stop staring at that food picture and get into it. Want to learn?  Educate yourself. Want to explore new career possibilities? Start investing in it.  Start with a plan. Planning helps you set goals, define them, and reach them. The journey to master self-control starts today.

2. Sadness & Lamentation

This attitude keeps you away from enjoying your life. This quote really sums up why this bad attitude should change “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten. ” – Tony Robbins

Self-pity will not take anybody anywhere. Practice gratitude when you can. Negativity is time-consuming. It overwhelms. Be thankful for your accomplishments as little as it can be. Create new opportunities and new dreams. The new dreams will be something to look forward to. It will give hope and contentment. Surround yourself with positive energy,  play some happy music. Create joyful moments.

3. Irresponsibility

Stop the blame. Take ownership of your actions. Admit when you are wrong. Apologize and move on. Take the time to analyze any situation and see how you contributed to the problem. The contribution can be directly or indirectly. Try to find solutions where it’s needed. If there is no solution, admire the problem. I always refer to this quote when I am unable to change any situation “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” – Reinhold Niebuhr

4. Chasing on being a people “pleaser”

Be yourself. No one can do this better than yourself. Stop seeking for approval, you will always fall short. You see each person have different expectations. Don’t go out of your comfort zone to please someone. Let people like you or hate you for who you are. Do the right thing, show respect and appreciation. Hopefully, the rest will follow. If not, at least you will have peace of mind.
